Hi! I’m Karina Zemel, a freelance communications strategist and editor based in Houston, Texas. I help research institutions, nonprofits, and other mission-driven organizations communicate complex ideas with clarity, authenticity, and impact. I can craft and coordinate a messaging strategy for your team, distill your research into short-form content, or copyedit your writing in a pinch — or all of the above, depending on your needs.
I spent five years leading these types of communications projects at a policy research institute, work that led me toward a master’s in anthropology and my own research at the intersection of policy, media, and religion.
